Bolivia 2011 Mission Trip

by Debra Reed

Pastor Sharon Lewis, Debra Reed, and wonderful translators, Astrid Lucas and Sandra Martinez, made up the team that traveled to Bolivia in October. Pastor Sharon was the key note speaker for the National Congress of Women in Cochabamba. The Congress, opened to all women in 2011, saw many come for the first time and experience the healing touch of Jesus. The pastors were set free from paralyzing lies of the enemy and released to pray for the women. The healing presence of Jesus and powerful prayer filled the room! And the two-hour communion service… powerful, powerful, anointed, wonderful presence of Jesus! The amazing love of our Savior and Lord was poured out on all! Being the last Congress for Pastor Carmen Suarez to lead, there were many goodbye tears as all thanked Pastor Carmen for her 12 years of leading the ladies of Bolivia. We were blessed by the presentations made by the ladies from all the districts in their native dress.

Before arriving in Cochabamba, Pastor Sharon and Debra spoke at the District Pastor’s Convention in Potosi, the highest city in the world. The enemy tried hard to stop us from speaking, but the Lord got us through delayed flights, missed connecting flights, and illness. Teachings may have been delayed but were not missed! The people of Potosi do not receive many visitors. They greeted us with much gratitude and excitement and were full of anticipation for what the Lord had in store for them. Pastor preached on the Good Samaritan and all could recognize when they had passed by those in need. The Lord had a word for the Potosi pastors from James 5:17-18…that although tired and weary of sowing, the land dry and dusty, to press on and keep planting seeds. For when the rains come, what a harvest! The rain will come, but the harvest is dependent on planting the word of God even when a cloud is not in sight.
